When you’re singing to 64,000 sports fans you have to dress up to get noticed – and Alexandra Burke did just that at a charity rugby match at Twickenham stadium at the weekend.
Sequins are normally associated with Christmas party dresses, but Alex showed you can dance in a sequinned outfit in summer with no sweat.
In her sleeveless outfit, the 2008 X Factor winner shook up the pitch with renditions of her two hit singles, Bad Boys and Broken Heels, supported by six sexy male backing dancers and 300 schoolchildren.
She moved so much, her dress was making a noise of its own as the sequins clashed together – giving a new meaning to rocking the dancefloor.
Alex’s sequins are quite large, but they come in all shapes, sizes and colours. We’re loving this Glam by Caprice silver sequin halter dress.
This Rare jersey sequin dress is more comfortable for dancing
Or this Miss Selfridge sequin embellished tunic is more subtle
Alex wore flats so she wouldn’t ruin the pitch. It’s hard to find a pretty pair of flats, but Very has a great range including embellished Moda in Pelle Casa Beaded Pumps
Dune Pixie leather moccasin shoes are also fabulous – and come in gold as well as wild zebra print.
The match between Bath and London Wasps ended up raising £1 million for Help For Heroes military charity. Bath ended up winning 35-19, which annoyed Alex as she tweeted: “Down at the Stadium, supporting the WASPS”
She ended up going to London club Mahiki to drown her sorrows with some tropical cocktails, once more showing sequins and flats keep you going all day and all night.
