Latest shoe trends for the summer season

Now that the sun is shining we’re all reaching for our strappy tops, skirts and maxi dresses but then comes the age old dilemma; what shoes shall I wear it with? Well there are some fab new styles in the footwear department for the summer with everything from gladiator sandals to flip flops. Here’s a quick guide to the top women’s shoe styles for summer.

One of the biggest trends for 2010 is the nude trend. Now, we don’t mean shedding your clothes and going au natural but rather neutral tones which are bang on trend including tans, beiges, taupes and creams.

You’ll notice that one of the key trends of last summer, the gladiator sandal, has been reworked for this year and you’ll find plenty of neutral tan and beige colours to fit in with the latest trend. I particularly love these Love Label gladiator sandals which have a pretty ruffle detailing and are neutral enough to fit in with most outfits.

Metallics are also featuring heavily in the summer shoe trends and are great for adding a bit of glitz to any outfit but if you’re not really one for bright silver or gold then there’s no need to fret as you’ll find a variety of darker colours including bronzes and burnt golds. For elegant simplicity you can’t beat a good pair of flip flops and these Love Label metallic ones with a twist feature are perfect to team with anything from jeans to maxi dresses.

Wedge sandals and mules are also making a big comeback this season after a few years on the backburner. This is great news ladies and as most of you will know they are far easier to walk in than traditional stiletto heels so you get comfort and style.

In keeping with the nude trend as well I love these pretty Skechers mules which have a pretty floral pattern and a cute wooden cut-out wedge and I think they would be great for summer and comfy enough to walk around all day in. These metallic wedges are also a great example of a mixture of this season’s trends and their bright metallic colours are perfect for adding some glamour.

Take a look in’s women’s shoes and boots department to find loads more styles and colours and find the perfect pair of mules, wedges, flip flops or gladiator style sandals for your feet this summer.
