Brightening Up Your Bathroom!

It’s no secret that the summer months are the most popular time for people to move house, we all start looking for pastures new and in the sunshine everything looks great and gives us a little kick to get on and do things. Of course moving house isn’t always the answer – if you’re itching to do something new with your home then follow the very.co.uk motto ‘improve, don’t move’.

There are plenty of things that you can do to brighten up your home and you’ll be surprised at the impact a few small changes can make and once you’re done – all those thoughts of moving home will have been vanquished!

Some rooms need more work than others, but bathrooms are actually quite easy as there are always the main staples in every bathroom – a bath or shower (sometimes both!), toilet and sink. These things aren’t going anywhere so it’s a matter of jazzing up the interior with some little touches.

New towel sets are one of the easiest things to buy to add a flash of colour to your bathroom – just pick one that goes with your colour scheme in your bathroom. Pinks, red and yellows will add warmth while green and blue add a natural touch. White is classic and will instantly make things look new and are a great choice if you have a coloured suite.

The same can be said for bath and pedestal mats… add a little bit of colour and because they will be fluffy and new it will instantly update your bathroom look. I really like this bobbly chenille one as it would add a funky look to any bathroom and far nicer than the plain white one I have at home at the moment!

If your bathroom is home to endless shampoo bottles and bath bombs, tidy it up a little with an organiser like this large basket which will keep the room from looking untidy.

Shiny new bathroom accessories like soap dishes, toothbrush holders and toilet brushes will just add a lease of new life – so if you want to make changes throw out the old ones and bring in the new!

My advice is to pick a colour theme, or two colours that work together well and go from there. Once you’ve got a few new pieces and have given the place a good scrubdown it’ll feel like a brand new room!
