My Top 3 Autumn Trends

OK, I give up! The weather has beaten me. Normally I don’t think about the changing seasons in August but here I am searching out my woollens and considering turning the heating on. In short – I’m chilly!

However, there are two good things about the onset of Autumn and the colder weather emerging. Firstly, a wardrobe refresh is required which means shopping and secondly, Christmas isn’t far away which also means shopping.

So, in preparation for my shopping spree, I have been checking out the new seasons trends. My favourite three are;

1. The Military Coat

The military trend is set to continue in Autumn/Winter 2010 and what better way to update your wardrobe with a military inspired coat?

I love both of these double breasted options from Very. The soft belt and dipped hemline of this khaki Love Label Military Trench  Coat adds a subtle touch of femininity which would look great over floral dresses.

This South Double-Breasted Military Coat with its numerous buttons, soft material and deep front pockets lends itself to a more structured look – skinny jeans, knee length boots and a crisp white shirt.

2. The Colour Camel

The colour of the season. Ladylike and reminiscent of the 50’s this is a trend to look out for.

I love this Oasis Lace Shoulder Cardigan as it embraces not only the camel and 50’s trends but the lace trend too. Team it with a pencil shirt or wear it over a shift dress for maximum 50’s style.

3. Ladylike 50’s Style Bags

This Embroidered Frame Bag captures the essence of the 50’s trend. This bag could just make your Granny jealous! The frame style and toggle fastening are enhanced by the embroidered detail and the combination of the detachable shoulder strap and the double straps to the top make this lovely bag functional. It would look fabulous teamed with the Oasis cardigan above and some kitten heels.

Other must-have trends to look out for are; leopard print, aviator jackets, gothic, embellishments, berry colours, everyday leather, lace, utility boots and simplicity.
