Top kid’s movies for the summer holidays

As Toy Story 3 became the latest film to top the UK box office it confirmed everything we already know about kid’s movies – they aren’t just for kids!

With the summer holidays now finally here, it’s well worth stocking up on some classics that can be watched time and time again, especially on those rainy days.

Here are my top 5 kid’s films to keep the whole family entertained this summer!

Toy Story/Toy Story 2

Before you head off to the cinema to see the latest instalment, revisit the equally hilarious and action packed adventures of Andy’s toys for a fun, touching story.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

C.S.Lewis’ classic tale was written in 1950, but its timeless story shows no signs of disappearing and this latest reimagining of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has captured the imagination of a whole new generation! Join Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy in the magical world of Narnia for an action packed adventure.

Ice Age: Complete Collection

Ice Age is a modern classic and takes you back in time to join Manny the mammoth, Sid the sloth, Diego the Smilodon and of course the loveable Scrat, who causes havoc chasing his beloved nut throughout the film! Watch them survive the ice age, discover dinosaurs and find love in these comedy capers!

Willy Wonka/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

For the mums and dads out there who prefer the classic Gene Wilder version of Roald Dahl’s classic tale, this double pack has the older version plus the new revamped version, starring Jonny Depp and some psychedelic oompa loompas! Join Charlie and Grandpa Joe on their adventures through the magical chocolate factory.

Harry Potter

Kids love Harry Potter and for all those budding witches and wizards out there, they can relive Harry, Hermione and Ron’s years at Hogwarts up to the sixth year, where they discover who the Half Blood Prince is and continue to fight against You-Know-Who and the Death Eaters. Be prepared – the new movie is out this year and is the second to last instalment, so make sure you’re all caught up!
