Style Focus: Winter Coats

It’s such a shame that we are already thinking about winter, especially when the sun is still shining, but it’s true the A/W collections are now in stores. One absolute staple that you need to get you through those ridiculously chilly days, random snow flurries and endless rain is a good coat.

For all you 80’s kids out there, you’ll be pleased to see the return of the classic duffle coat – toggles and all! Luckily, they’ve been given a grown up twist and are the perfect winter coat to keep you warm and keep you looking good. This hooded swing duffle coat is great for adding some colour and has a cape-esque feel to it, so it’s definitely in keeping with the season’s trends.

If you’re wondering where the fur trim on the hood is, you’ll love Fearne Cotton’s version – in colourful blue and red.

Another massive trend that’s emerging in the coat department is the return of the military style coats and jackets. These are a great winter option and the dark colour palette and slimline silhouettes that they create are perfect for keeping your wardrobe up to date, as well as keeping you nice and toasty.

Holly Willoughby’s navy blue coat is a great option and the red detailing gives it a cute retro feel while this Love Label Epaulette coat with its classic double button front will have you marching through the winter in style.

For a splash of colour try this pretty bright teal coat from South, which mixes a bright colour with a double breasted, buttoned design that will bring a bit of glamour to the military trend. Keep it simple with a military style trench coat in a dark military green that will keep you wrapped up and cinch in your waist for a gorgeous look.
