X Factor Exclusive: Konnie Huq Interview

Former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq is the newest addition to the X Factor family.

How is she finding replacing Holly Willoughby as the face of the Xtra Factor on ITV2 after the main ITV show?

Very caught up with her at the start-studded launch party for Pixie Lott’s new range of dresses for Lipsy to find out.

Frankie Sandiford and Mollie King from The Saturdays, Chipmunk, Tinie Tempah, The Wanted, Danielle Lloyd and Strictly Come Dancing’s Kristina Rihanoff all turned up to the bash at London’s Gilgamesh restaurant to see what Pixie had penned for Autumn/Winter but we made a beeline for Konnie.

Read our mini interview with the lady herself below:

QS: Will you be wearing Lipsy on the show now?

KONNIE: “Yes, why not?! I  haven’t worn Lipsy much in the past, but I’m enjoying wearing it tonight and you can’t beat a bit of bling!”

QS: What we really want to know is were you nervous when you took over from Holly Willoughby?

KONNIE: “It was all very last minute. I never believed I would be doing it until I was actually on set. I suppose I didn’t allow myself to think about it. So on my first day I turned up and I had so much to do that I didn’t have time for nerves it actually worked pretty well.”

QS: How did you feel when you watched the first ever episode you’re in?

KONNIE: “I was almost sick with fear. It wasn’t so much that I was nervous but that people would think I was rubbish compared to Holly. I hope people like what I do!!”

QS: Have you got any favourites yet?

KONNIE: “Not yet. I have to work with everyone – boys, girls, over 28s – the whole crew and I meet too many people to have favorites at this stage.

I expect that’s something I may struggle with as we get into the final 10 and then you get to know people and they get voted off. I’m quite sensitive so I hope I don’t get upset.”

QS: Is Simon really scary?

KONNIE: “Yes! But they’re all scary. I wouldn’t mess with Cheryl either.”

Bless!

Tune into ITV2 after the main Saturday and Sunday night show to see how Konnie’s confidence grows as the show progresses.

In the meantime, if you want a bit of bling then copy Konnie with a Lipsy bandeau dress

Or for super sexy silver try a new Glam by Caprice ruched satin mini dress

Or a Glam by Caprice sequin bubble hem dress

With these statement dresses, Konnie’s definitely holding her own in the fashion stakes alongside judges Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole. We can’t wait to see all the outfits this weekend!
