Five Minutes Of Fashion With Michelle Williams

Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams may have had a tough start to Strictly Come Dancing as she’s getting lower scores than Eastenders actress Kara Tointon, but there’s no upstaging Michelle when it comes to dressing up.

The voice of Destiny’s Child hits like Say My Name and Survivor showed she was an Independent Woman when it came to fashion at the finals of a cocktail making competition at the swanky Riverbank Plaza hotel in London.

While other celebs wore dresses or tight jeans and towering heels, Michelle was the only woman in a playsuit.

It’s getting slightly cold to wear such a daring piece but Michelle pulled it off with attitude.

The American superstar’s only been in the UK for a month so she’s slowly getting used to British fashion.  Find out what inspires her in our mini interview below!

QS: Have you had any time to shop while you’ve been in the UK?

MICHELLE: “Yes! I love your shops. I went to Oxford Street the other day and I’ve been to the Kings Road in West London. I even went to some London Fashion Week shows. I loved the glitz and the drama.”

QS: Are you happy with the outfits you wear on Strictly?

MICHELLE: “I love the clothes on Strictly. The company who make them do amazing dresses.

“I told them, ‘One day you’ll have to make my wedding dress’ – and I’m not even engaged. I would love to take inspiration from my Strictly outfits to make it.”

QS: What do you like about the outfits?

MICHELLE: “I love how they shine and the sequins. I love all the Swarovski crystals and fabrics, it’s all just so beautiful.”

QS: Coming from the US, are you concerned about the British winter weather at all?

MICHELLE: “I come from Illinois originally and that can get a whole lot colder. You just have to wear layers. I’ve got a leather jacket and that sees me through. I’m thinking about getting one of those trendy aviator jackets next.”

QS: Do you still hang out with The Destiny’s Child ladies?

MICHELLE: “We talk all the time. Beyoncé thinks I’m crazy for doing a show where everything about me will be exposed, but I think it’s a chance you have to take.

Both Beyonce and Kelly have been very encouraging. When we are in the same city as one another, we sneak in and support each other.”

But it doesn’t look like Michelle needs that much support though as she can hold her head eye if she continues to dress as well as this.

For a black playsuit that is very similar to hers, Very has the Lipsy lace playsuit

If you’re looking for a playsuit to wear at parties then the Love Label velvet cowl neck playsuit is stunning

But if you need a playsuit for winter then the South floral short playsuit can be worn over a jumper and thick tights

Good luck in the rest of the series, Michelle!
