The Black and Nude Trend
There is something about the black and nude combination that seems, to me, to be more mature, more elegant than the classic black and white combo. It’s black and white’s older sister – from the same family but more stylish and self assured, understated and demure.
As Jen demonstrates nude works brilliantly with a tan but paler complexions, such as Carey, need a darker mink colour to avoid looking washed out. Alternatively you can keep the black element of your outfit next to your skin, especially next to your face and introduce the nude into the rest of your outfit. If this isn’t possible a statement necklace will break up the colour. Have a look at this Love Label Cornelli dress as good example.
Nude tones can look drab but by wearing them in a fabric with a texture or sheen looks wonderfully sophisticated. Take a tip from SJP and team it with sequins to add sparkle. Whatever you decide there is a way everyone can wear this trend. This Love Label Frill sleeve blouse is perfect, the satin chiffon has a lovely sheen and the necklace adds definition (gorgeous hair obviously helps too!).
