BBC Host Claudia Winkleman Talks Red Carpet Fashion

Claudia Winkleman may be the host of Film 2010 and Sunday night’s Strictly Come Dancing Results show but she is refreshingly down to earth when it comes to her off-screen outfits.

You may expect someone who is on TV most nights of the week to have a wardrobe full of couture dresses and designer shoes but she exclusively admitted to Very she prefers high street fashion.

At the weekend, it’s all about sequins and glamour as she helps Tess Daley announce who’s staying in the BBC talent show and who’s fox trotting it home.

And during the week she dresses up to interview A List Hollywood stars for Film 2010, which she took over from Jonathan Ross

But when we caught up with her at The Galaxy British Book Awards, she said it took her ages to get red-carpet ready. Not what you would expect from someone that has to scrub up practically every night of the week!

The effort paid off and Claudia, who is married to film producer Kris Thykier, looked Strictly sensational at the awards dinner at BBC TV Centre in West London.

She also spoke about how happy she was glamorous X factor presenters Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue were on TV the same night as she felt it took attention from what she wore. Bless!

The captivating mum of two attracted a lot of attention from photographers on the red carpet as her metallic dress combined with warm leggings and blazer proved a winning combination. 10 out of 10 for style, Claudia!

If you’re looking for a show-stopping but well-fitting dress for an event this party season try the South leather pencil dress

The Mint velvet moody floral satin dress looks great on its own and even better with leggings

Basics are great value at Very with a pack of two Love Label leggings just £12

To arrive in style, complete the look with a formal jacket. The In Wear Beeta blazer is well-cut and it’s classic shape will complement rather than clash with a dress

Recently Claudia got in trouble with the BBC as swearing could be heard as a VT ended on her live show  so wearing sexy but subtle outfits must help her earn back some much needed brownie points with her bosses.

And the public can’t fail to like her more knowing that she has just the same insecurities as everyone else before putting on a brave face and looking fabulous.
