New girl on the pop scene Eliza Doolittle has something big to celebrate this Christmas as her catchy hit Pack Up has just been nominated for the ITunes single of the year.
Awards and being on stage are in Eliza’s blood as she is the grand-daughter of Sylvia Young who runs the famous stage school that educated celebrities like Emma Bunton, Billie Piper and Denise Van Outen.
And with her self-titled debut album Eliza Doolitle recently reaching number three in the UK charts, she really is on the high.
Music critics are predicting Brit Awards in 2011, but she was modest when Very caught up with her at a the Fight For Life children’s charity lunch at London’s Planet Hollywood.
“I don’t do this job for the awards,” the refreshingly honest pop star confessed. “I do it because I like performing and I like meeting my fans.
“I write all my own songs so for me its an outlet to be creative, rather than wanting to win an award.”
Let’s hope she remembers this attitude whether she wins or loses come the Brits in February. The only thing worse than a bad loser is a smug winner.
And what’s worse than both of those put together is a celebrity that relies of a team of people to dress them.
Eliza has a unique way of expressing her creativity through her outfits as she reveals exclusively to Very in the video below.
Eliza’s secret is finding lots of cool individual items so when you pit them together the effect is mesmerising. First you notice her coat and then you notice her shoes and the rest of the outfit falls into place.

It’s off to America soon for the young star as an American version of her album called Meet Eliza Doolottle is now available to download in the US.
We wonder what the Americans will make of her style. She’s a fab antitode to other overstyled British singers.
