Sugababe Amelle Berrabah is optimistic about 2011.
After a difficult 12 months in which the pretty singer was banned from driving after failing an alcohol test, she made it to the end of the year, bagged a new model boyfriend Tom Benn and saw in 2011 in style in one of London’s coolest nightclubs, Mahiki.
What’s more her party partners were two of the most eligible lads in pop – Marvin Humes and Aston Merrygold from JLS.
We caught up with a smiley, positive Amelle for a chat about new year’s resolutions and fashion tips.
QS: Is fashion important to you?
AMELLE: “Totally! I try to reschedule work so I can go to fashion week. I love British designers like Jasper Conran and Vivienne Westwood but I also like the buzz of fashion week in general.”
QS: What is your must-have item for Winter?
AMELLE: “At the moment, I love my leather jacket. It’s perfect for when you don’t know what the weather will be like. It’s warm but not too warm.”
QS: What do you look for when choosing a party dress?
AMELLE: “For parties you can get away with glitter and sequins and a bit of sparkle. Just be careful not to overdo it. A bit of sequins is good, but not from top to toe.”
QS: Where do you normally shop for clothes?
AMELLE: “Everywhere, I love to mix and match. I get a top from one shop and jeans from another and throw everything together. I’m not someone who dresses head-to-toe in designer.”
QS: Finally, what are your plans for 2011?
“I’ve been working with a personal trainer and we do a mix of running outdoors, Pilates and weights. “I can really tell my fitness levels have improved. I also love bikram yoga.”
