Cheryl Cole’s National Television Awards Style

Cheryl Cole had the nice but naughty look down to a fine art at the TV awards as she pulled off a new take on the sexy secretary look.

In a structured black dress, cut at the side to emphasise her petite curves, and her hair back to glossy brown rather than bottled purple, the Parachutes singer looked classy and demure from the front.

However, that’s not enough for a star like Cheryl, and she was under more pressure than most to glam up as had to go up on stage with Simon Cowell to collect X Factor’s award for most popular talent show.

To ensure that everyone noticed her backside and got a good final impression when she left the o2 arena stage with a trophy, Ms Tweedy turned round to reveal her dress was backless.

And at the same time she showed off a new tattoo of a butterfly – a sign that the pop princess is spreading her wings and flying away from the year of hell she suffered in 2010 in which she got divorced and was diagnosed with malaria.

No matter what, 2011 has to be better for Cheryl – especially if she is announced as a new signing of the US X Factor.

Rumours at the end of last year, suggested she had been snapped up to host the American version of the show in which she’s one of the judges but no contracts have been signed and Katy Perry and Rihanna are also in the line-up for Cheryl’s seat on the X Factor.

There are fears the former Girls Aloud singer is not famous enough in the States to attract viewers to the show and Simon Cowell is viciously determined to do everything he can to make the X Factor a success internationally as he’s done with American Idol.

It’s a nervous waiting game for Cheryl, even though she looks cool and coiffed at the NTA’s.

The good news for us in the meantime is we can aspire to be as collected and composed as Cheryl with some very similar black dresses at Very including the Coleen Pride of Britain dress – a dress based on the red carpet outfit Coleen wore to the Pride of Britain Awards. With both Cheryl and Coleen wearing a dress in a similar style, you know it’s going to be a hit!

Also, check out the Forever Unique Lucy dress. It’s got similar straps with a very sexy velvet fabric and waist embellishment to flatter your figure.

But if you’re tempted by backless try the Love Label open back beaded tunic

Or match your dress to your lipstick with the Teatro backless bow dress. And bows and butterfly tattoos (in Cheryl’s case) do go well together

Finish with some sexy red shoes like the Ted Baker Sidone platform shoes

We’ll find out whether Cheryl’s cool, classy look is enough to earn her the X Factor USA job very soon…
