Aviators are back this summer

Most of you will have noticed that the days are getting longer, that you aren’t leaving the office in the darkness any more and that the mornings are getting a lot brighter. It’s all a sign that the British summer time is on its way and, with the clocks going forward next week, you are likely to be looking at some form of protection for your eyes ahead of the summer weather.

Thankfully, designers are already coming up with their latest offerings of sunglasses and shades for 2011, with the classic ‘aviator’ look still very much the one to go for this summer.

With top celebrities still being snapped in these retro-style shades, the aviator looks set to take off once again in 2011 and the new styles are arriving at Very HQ thick and fast.

We’ll start by taking a look at one of the classic names when it comes to sunglasses – Ray Ban. Originally designed for the US military in 1937, Ray Ban aviator sunglasses are an old favourite that are just perfect for the upcoming summer.

The teardrop shape is iconic, while the metal frame is sleek and understated. These Ray Ban aviator sunglasses are an essential for the season ahead – and you’ll love their cool casual and classic influence on your summer wardrobe. You also have a choice of three chic colours.

Next up, we’ve got the Carrera Metal Aviator Mens Sunglasses which are brand new into Very.co.uk. These aviators come with a cool blue tint and at £77; there is a cool price tag to match. Featuring Carrera lettering to the lens and arm, a contrast stripe to the front and logo detail at the bridge of the nose, these shades are great for somebody looking to get a cool designer look without breaking their budget.

Finally, we have picked up on another name that is synonymous with style and sophistication by taking a look at these Armani Mens Sunglasses.

The black frame contrasts brilliantly with the red frame interior to give an extremely striking look, whilst the cut-out logo detail and black lens adds that extra touch of style.

I’d have to agree, however they have been going strong now for the past 2-3 years.
