How Rachel Stevens Is Adapting To Motherhood

Former S-Club 7 pop star Rachel Stevens is adjusting to hanging up the microphone and stepping away from the spotlight to perform mum duties, and it looks like she’s doing a fab job.

Rachel, who was voted  one of the FHM Hot 100 Women in her modelling days, looked every inch the yummy mummy as she took her daughter Amelie for a stroll in London’s Primrose Hill.

Amelie is now 5 months old but Rachel is taking it slowly when it comes to going back to work. Instead she wants to spend time with her newborn while she’s still young.

And she also confessed to Very it had been a shock just how hard first-time motherhood could be.

“It’s a lot of early mornings,” she said. “Amelie is a good sleeper, she’s a really good girl but nothing prepares for the shock.”

The 32 year old singer also revealed that she wants more little ones with her property developer husband Alex Bourne.

“Alex would like a football team,” she added. “I think I’d like at least two or three.”

At the moment, the former pop star makes the first one look so effortless, managing to make pushing a buggy down a street look like she’s ready for the catwalk. This is a great sign she’d be prepared for additions to her brood.

Maybe Rachel’s ability to dress well despite having a young baby comes from the pressure of touring the world with S Club, looking after the cheeky male members of the group and doing interviews at a moments notice without much time to change?

Or maybe she gets it from years of training as a dancer when she had to do quick costume changes in between performances?

Whatever her secrets, there are a few tactics we can all learn from Rachel if we want to look beautiful and on trend if we don’t have much time.

Firstly, boyfriend jeans are comfortable and easy to wear but they look on-trend and up to date with the turn up detail at the end. You can achieve a similar look with the new Diesel Debi cropped jeans from Very

Or try the South Katie boyfriend jeans, which are just £30

Another tip is to keep it simple with prints so you can easily wash an outfit if it gets dirty. The Love Label stripe tunic has the same air of effortless French chic as Rachel’s stripe top

Then show you can have fun with fashion by picking some pretty ballerina pumps. The South Clarence bow stud ballerinas are exquisite

Rachel’s a fab example of how you can be pretty and practical without taking too much time or effort!
