Jennifer Hudson’s Style Secrets and Tips

Oscar winning actress and former American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson has been like a one woman catwalk show since she’s been in the UK to promote her latest album I Remember Me.

But the dress she wore for an intimate performance at The Ivy Club is particularly gorgeous.

The A-line skirt flatters her stomach and gives her an hourglass silhouette as it nips in at the waist.

But it’s also good for the hips as the skirt falls loosely, skimming over the tops of her legs to make her figure more streamline.

With high heels, her legs are made longer and this has a slimming effect too. What a Dream Girl!

So how has the American pop star morphed into such a style icon? Very caught up with her for an exclusive mini interview:

QS: How important is fashion and clothing to you?

JENNIFER: “It’s my life. It’s so much fun, I can’t sleep at night because I can’t wait to find out what I’m going to wear the next day.”

QS: You famously shed a great deal of weight. How did that have an impact on the way you dress?

JENNIFER: “I’ve love my new figure. All the fabulous clothes I can wear and get sent, I joke that I’m like a walking billboard now. More choice is available to me and I make the most of that by wearing as much as possible, sometimes different outfits in one day. I just love getting dressed.

”I can wear jeans, I can wear skirts and heels – it’s all about having fun with fashion and now I feel more comfortable.”

QS: How would you describe your style?

JENNIFER: “I dress to reflect my personality. I suit bright and womanly pieces like pretty skirts and dresses. And now I can wear leggings.”

QS: Do you have a celebrity style icon?

JENNIFER: “Aretha Franklin is my idol. She dressed to emphasise her figure and she always looked classy.”

QS: Do you have any fashion tips?

JENNIFER: “Don’t be afraid when it comes to dressing up. Try something on and if it doesn’t look good you can always take it off again. Go for that print or those high shoes and you could work a new look, don’t knock it until you try it.”
