Naomi Campbell is focusing all of her feistiness and infinite energy on charity and has arrived in Cannes for that very good cause.
The stunning supermodel is organising a charity catwalk show during the Cannes Film Festival with all proceeds going to help victims of the Japan earthquake disaster.
Naughty turned nice Naomi has teamed up with Vogue Italia and The Red Cross to enable her to organise such an enormous project but she has to do a lot of the hard work herself.
It’s Naomi who persuaded all of the models to give up their time for free. And she’s the one who’s getting VIPs to miss films during the biggest film festival in Europe so they can attend her charity fashion show.
But with more than 20 years of experience in fashion on the catwalks and for ad campaigns, you can guarantee Naomi will put on a good show.
Very.co.uk exclusively caught up with her during the film festival, as you can see by the photo above. This is what she had to say:
QS: Your fashion show is in aide of Japan – does their fashion inspire you at all?
QS: Which celebrities do you think have good fashion sense?
NAOMI: “I love what Jessie J is doing now. She rocks – I like her shorts and the bright tops she wears with it. It’s a powerful look.”
QS: As you travel a lot for work, do you have any tips about staying fresh and comfortable while travelling?
NAOMI: “My top tip is to take a blanket or a large scarf. Then you can wrap it round yourself or use it as a pillow.
QS: What do you think of the fashion out here in Cannes?
NAOMI: “I absolutely love getting dressed up. I like to be casual but it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to wear a pretty dress.”
QS: What trends are you picking for your show, so we know what to look out for in summer?
NAOMI: “We’ll be seeing a lot of colour. And there will be a lot of full length gowns – it’s in Cannes after all.”
Naomi is an expert at red carpet dressing, with one of her key Cannes moments seeing her in a black maxi dress. But it wasn’t an average plain dress because it was embellished with mini sequins so she really stood out.
If you like how she’s made a maxi dress more interesting then you may like some of the embellished dresses at Very such as the Amanda Wakeley embellished chiffon maxi dress

The Teatro layered maxi dress is not embellished but still a lot more lovely than a plain black number
Naomi’s target is to raise £1 million for Japan and she always achieves her goals. Impressive!
