Mischa Barton Is Back: Exclusive Fashion Interview

The OC actress Mischa Barton has recovered from her unflattering performance on Fearne Cotton’s ITV2 show and recently looked better than ever at a fashion party in London.

On the TV show, she was portrayed as being moody and miserable but there were no end of smiles from Mischa as she arrived at the Iberica restaurant in London for the showbiz party.

Previously she’d had her hair done at the capital’s award winning Inanch salon – clearly there’s nothing like a good hair do to make a girl look and feel fabulous.

Plus the actress was also getting in the mood for summer with a gorgeous green maxi dress and if we had a dress like this then we’d be smiling too!

Mischa’s look is right on trend for this summer – animal prints and bright colours are hot this season.  The gathered high waist and mid-length sleeves of her dress are very flattering and complement her body shape perfectly.

How did she do it? Very.co.uk also attended the party and grabbed Mischa to ask about fashion, her comeback and what she plans to do next.

QS: You’re looking amazing right now, what’s your secret?

MISCHA: “I feel happy when it’s sunny so I dress to reflect that. It’s simple. Everyone needs some items in their wardrobe that make them feel cheerful.

For me, that’s bright colours and maxi skirts and maxi dresses, but I know some of my friends love skinny jeans because they make their legs look amazing.

My secret is shopping around until I find something that I know looks good and then trusting my instincts and buying it. Easy!”

QS: Do you have any advice about how to accessorise an outfit?

MISCHA: “My top tip is to have a Mischa Barton handbag.

“No seriously, I’d say less is more with jewellery. It’s better to have one stunning necklace or a few bangles than both with earrings. It just means people notice what you have. Otherwise people can hear you when you arrive if you have too much jewellery on and that’s not cool.”

QS: Tell us more about your handbags, what has been your inspiration?

MISCHA: “I always loved handbags but I found it difficult to find ones with lots of pockets. I was constantly losing things because I was shoving them into my handbag and it became a black hole. So even my clutch bags have pockets, which makes them so practical.”

QS: What are your favourite bags from the collection?

MISCHA: “At night-time, I’ll take out a clutch. For day, I love big bags – with pockets – the Mischa Barton black tote bag is regularly used as it goes with everything.”

QS: What can we expect to see in your handbag range next season?

MISCHA: “I’m heading to China in a few weeks to oversee the next collection. I’m very hands on with the designs and quality control.

“I’m hoping to bring out some designer-looking handbags, some with bow details and charms and some big and simple. But the key thing is they’ll look expensive but they’ll all be under £100.”

Mischa’s business brain impressed us almost as much as her outfit. If you fancy trying some gorgeous green this summer then take a leaf out of Mischa’s book. The South animal print maxi dress is the jungle in a dress – it’s wild

Or the South crinkle effect maxi dress combines the flowy, boho shape of Mischa’s maxi with a more emerald colour

For a party dress to make you feel like a green goddess it has to be the Elements Amanda Wakeley satin drape maxi dress

Green goes well with brown and gold sandals and if you’d like comfort as well as style check out the new Dune rush t-bar wedge sandals

With accessories, less is more so all you need to complete the look is a simple but stunning cluster jewel necklace and earring set

Now Mischa’s back, prepare to see a lot more of her. She’s about to star in not one but three movies – The Sibling, Into the Darkness and Apartment 1303. Go girl!

Antiques are usually objects which show some degree of craftsmanship, or a certain attention to design such as a desk or an early automobile. They are most often bought at antique shops, or passed down as an estate. Some valuable antiques can be bought from antique dealers and auction services or purchased online through websites and online auctions. Antique dealers are often members of national trade associations, many of which belong to CINOA, a confederation of art and antique associations across 21 countries, representing 5000 dealers..
