Your Summer Eye Makeup Sorted By Ginni Bogado

It’s still summer, so why not embrace the Summer eye make-up trends of ‘bold and bright’.  Blues, Oranges, Yellows, Purples and Fushia are all the rage!  Sounds frightening but flattering and you don’t have to be a genius Make-up artist to work this look.

I’m going to run through a few simple tips and tricks to make your life simple.

Ok, firstly it is imperative that you prep the eye first either with your concealer or some YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touche or foundation. Remember to always prep the eyes first or if you don’t wear foundation use Elizabeth Arden Advanced Eye Fix Primer.  Once the lid is concealed and any redness from the lids and the inner corners by the nose (they tend to be Blueish) is hidden it really opens your eye up you’ll be amazed at the difference this little tip makes. You then powder the entire lid and this removes any excess oil and helps your eye make-up stay put and not slide down your face!

Now the exciting part – you can use a colourful eyeliner to create the ‘Audrey Hepburn’ – flick with a twist by trying purple liquid liner by Barry M which is the most flattering for just about any eye colour but definitely makes Blue eyes stand out even more!  For the evening try this flick with Barry M’s glitter liquid eyeliner in green – divine!

Curl Lashes and add lashings of mascara and this look could definitely benefit with some false lashes as they elongate the eye and enhance the flick.

Now moving for the ‘bold and bright’ I’m loving Barry M’s ‘ eye shadow trios. My favourites for this summer are Lavender Lullaby or Paradise Passion. Then using the useful sponge applicator or if you want to be a total professional, I would recommend Daniel Sandler’s eye shadow brush-1 is just perfect for this look as it covers the entire lid in one.

Now remember just chose one bright colour – no rainbows on the eyes, the key to this season eye look is one block colour! You can also use a pencil to define the lash line top and bottom to enhance the look, for example if you’ve gone for bright blue choose a deep blue, for yellow eye shadow brown is good and, fushia looks fantastic lined with black kohl.
