With the summer holidays still having a few weeks or so to run, keeping the kids entertained is probably going to prove to be a bit of a challenge in the not too distant future.
After all, your youngsters are bound to be excited in the early weeks but, inevitably, you’re going to hear the classic “I’m booooored!” when it comes to weeks five, six and in some cases, seven!
So let’s come up with a way to keep them entertained this summer and, whilst we’re at it, come up with ideas that will help them cool off at the same time. It’s no secret that kids love to make the most of the weather while it lasts, so we have come up with some great outdoor games – all involving water!
After all, not all of can have our own pool and with local leisure centres usually packed during the holidays, so why not let your kids play some water based games in their back yard? Games like this Aqua Blast Hockey for instance?
This wet ‘n’ wild water hockey game is a water version of the well known air hockey game, the sort that your kids have probably played hundreds of times in games arcades.
The game easily attaches to any hose and there is plenty of incentive to win, as your opponent gets drenched every time you score a goal! Suitable for ages 3 and over, this is a great games that is easy to set up and even easier to play.
One toy that always proves popular is a good water cannon. Who hasn’t had a good drenching from a super soaker at some point in their lives?
Well now, you can soak your opponents in an instant with this motorized Nerf Thunderstorm water blaster! Fully automatic for maximum speed, this blaster lets you just pull the trigger to begin the drenching action. Fill your water clip, attach it to your blaster and begin sending soaking streams up to 25ft away.
It is also battery powered (4 x AA batteries, not included), so you don’t need keep pumping the cannon. Just aim and fire!
Finally, we’ve picked out a classic water game that seems to have been around for years – Splash Pod.
We remember a game similar to this when we were younger and the simplicity of this toy is what makes it so fun.
Simply dunk both halves of the splash pod under water, put them together and then softly squeeze the top to seal the water inside. Now the splash pod is ready for you to throw around with your friends but, when the seal opens, someone gets wet!
All that we need now is a long hot summer!
