Get your Bank Holiday Festival Essentials

The festival season may have taken something of a break but, in just two weeks time, it is back with a bang with the likes of Leeds, Reading and Creamfields all taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Whether you’re a regular festival goer or a first timer, the chances are that you’re going to need some extra supplies to prepare yourself for a weekend of camping, music and (inevitably) rain.

So without further ado, let us come up with our checklist of festival essentials for the Bank Holiday weekend (the last one before Christmas!) to help you prepare for whatever festival you are heading to.

Firstly, and this seems quite obvious, you’re going to need somewhere to sleep between shows so let’s deal with the issue of tents.

This Gelert Como Sphere Quick Pitch Compact Tent is ideal for festivals and other quick getaways. It’s lightweight, can be pitched within minutes and with a distinctive design and brightly coloured guy lines, it’s dead easy to spot amongst a sea of tents!

For something a little big bigger, try this Lichfield Apache 3-person tent. With a porch area for storing your wellies (keeping the mud out of your living area) and room for four people, this is a great value festival tent.

Now, once you’re in your tent, you’re going to need something to sleep in and this is where the Lichfield trail midi sleeping bag comes in. With more than 50% off at the moment, this sleeping bag represents fantastic value and with a durable exterior, it can take whatever a festival can throw at it.

Of course, you’ll need something to carry of this gear, as well as all of your clothing, in and this Lichfield Explorer 80 plus 10 litre rucksack will do the job.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we have the wellies. No festival is complete without wellington boots, so much so that they have become a fashion statement in their own right.

Need proof? What about these funky looking cow print wellies from South? After all, you’re going to be living in a field for a few days so why not go for that ‘field’ look?

Alternatively, we like this novel approach from Ju Ju with their Glow in the Dark Welly. After all, there’s nothing worse than people tripping over you on that trudge back to the campsite after the headline act. These wellies will at least make sure that you’re noticed!
