The A-level results are in and we’re all hoping that that envelope contained the results that you were looking for!
Now, for thousands of young people, thoughts can immediately turn to university and the preparations will no doubt be beginning in earnest.
Most of us in the same position have had some degree of trepidation about moving on to the next chapter in our lives. The prospect of leaving home, moving to a new city and committing three or more years of your life to your chosen subject is enough to make even the bravest student nervous, which is why it is important to go prepared.
The biggest consideration for students at university is computing equipment. With so much of your course now likely to be reliant on computer access, making sure that you have all of the equipment that you need is essential.
So, for example, getting your hands on a laptop computer to allow you to study at home and on campus is highly recommended.
This HP g6-1160sa Pentium Dual Core 3GB, 500Gb 15.6in Laptop is ideal for any fresher this academic year. The Dual Core processor will easily cope with those university assignments and with 500GB of storage space, there is plenty of room for your documents, photos, music and movies.
The laptop also comes with built-in WiFi, a multimedia card reader and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium. Also, with the Very bundle offer, you can get a great deal on Norton 360 Antivirus software.
So, you’ve got the laptop but what about the accessories? Well, for starters, we’d recommend a carry case and with £11 off, this Tech Air 15.6 inch Laptop Case and Mouse is great value.
The case makes your laptop easier to transport across campus and if you’re one of those people who doesn’t like those trackpad mice, the silver 800dpi optical mouse will come in very handy!
Now that we’ve got the laptop and the mouse, we’ll need something to print out our assignments on. Unfortunately, printer ink can take a pretty big chunk out of a student’s budget. Thankfully, Kodak is on hand to bring much, much cheaper ink to the masses.
For example, the ink for this Kodak ESP C110 AIO Printer and scanner is just £7 for the black and £13 for the colour – significantly cheaper than rival printers!
Finally, if you want to carry your documents with you, then USB key drives are ideal. This PNY 8GB USB Drive will carry plenty of documents and files, allowing you to access them on almost any computer with a USB port. They’re also fantastic for backing up those all important files.
So if you’ve got the results that you’re looking for this week, now is the time to get prepared and ready for university in September!
