Very Berry is the hot colour palette for this Autumn/Winter season and there is a shade to suit all skin tones and hair colours from the lightest shade of strawberry to darkest blackberry. Statement dresses in luscious berry shades are a simple and easy outfit choice. You don’t have to be too clever with your styling as the dramatic colour is doing all the work for you.
I love this so on trend South 60’s Retro A-line Dress. It will really suit most body shapes except top heavy. All it needs is some darker berry tights, ankle boots and a killer necklace. Dresses with details at the neck and skimming skirts really suit pear shapes so go for this beautiful 70’s Love Label Belted Pleated Dress.
Try to mix and match your Berry shades as these tones look wonderful when worn together. Graduate dark to light to suit your body shape ie. Top heavy ladies wear darker on top and lighter bottoms. Flip this for pear shapes. Apples will do well in these raspberry Love Label Super Skinny Jeans or these Oasis Cherry Skinny Coloured Jeans. I know they are not officially a berry shade but cherry sounds like berry so who’s quibbling!
This Love Label Button Blouse has all the key style details you’d want from a blouse – gold buttons, rolled up sleeves and silky fabric. Rolling up your sleeves to elbow length is a stylists trick for creating the illusion of a narrower waist, as the eye is drawn into the waist. Try it, it really works.
Here’s one for the fashionistas – this dramatic Love Label Split Midi Vintage Dress. The midi length is almost demure in style until you see the split to the thigh. Very sexy. Accessorise all the dresses I’ve mentioned with one of my favourite bags for the new season, Beatnik Velvet Bag.
When you get bored of mixing and matching your berry shades try injecting a pop of contrasting pop of colour to your berry outfit. Cornflower blue looks great with mulberry, chartreuse is wow with blueberry, orange clashes beautifully with raspberry or play safe with grey which works with all the berry shades. Light grey will be best worn with the darker tones of blackberry and boysenberry. And there you have it – a veritable fruit bowl of fashion deliciousness.
