I just love this year’s collections, seeking inspiration from years gone by we are seeing so much more choice than ever before!
I’m useless with a sewing machine, the only thing I ever made that actually looked like it should was a quilted dog coat for my dog, sadly the dog turned its nose up at wearing it so that was a total flop!
I do enjoy looking at vintage patterns though and was particularly struck how on the ball designers have been this year with their vintage inspired pieces!
French Connection in particular has made some great 40’s pieces -which are a great trend at the moment –So I dragged out some patterns for you to see how close they actually are!
Oasis have done such a great job also, the pussy cat bow blouse in particular seems almost cut from the same pattern, just look at this!
Palazzo pants were big over summer but now winter is near its hard to know how to wear them, easy simply wear over thick tights (no one will know!) and slip on some brogues, think Agatha Christie glam and don’t be afraid to paint those lips red!
The Cape Coat (I’m in love with mine!) is HUGE this year , If you haven’t got one then buy now to get the most out of it , they are great for wearing over chunky knits too as the weather cools down later in the year , a great investment I think as they instantly update a tired wardrobe.
What’s your favourite buy this year?
