Trend Focus: Snakeskin

When it comes to inspiration fashion designers keep turning to the animal kingdom.

Leopard skin has already earned its fashion stripes (or should that be spots?) and established itself as a classic wardrobe staple.

Along with pony skin and dalmatian, snakeskin is set to be a strong A/W 2011 trend. My general rule for pieces such as these is to stick to one statement piece and keep the rest of the outfit simple.

Bags are an excellent way to try a trend

Shoes are also an easy way to work the trend. These platforms would look fab under flared jeans or teamed with a 60’s mini dress and the flats are perfect for popping in your bag for when your balls start to ache… you know what I mean.

Heels for a night out, fold up flats for the journey home.

Keeping the shape simple and the colour muted makes the trend all the more wearable for the daytime, it’s perfect for office attire.

A demure shape lets the pattern do the talking

But if you want to go all out and really rock the trend, there is plenty to chose from!

Muted hues for daywear
Adding just a touch of the trend

Will you be donning snake skin this season?
