Arise style Queen Tulisa! Every week the N Dubz singer from a council estate in North London can hold her own against internationally famous Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland.
And often she ends up wearing cooler, edgier and generally more fabulous outfits than Kelly, who looks lovely and ladylike but sometimes too conservative.
Tulisa, who’s mentoring the groups category, never fails to experiment with different outfits every week. It can be a dress one week, then a jumpsuit and then shorts. An outfit consisting of shorts and boots really suits her as we witnessed when we saw her outside the X Factor contestants house earlier this week.
Despite a hectic schedule now the live shows are underway, the youngest but feistiest on the judging panel found time to give interviews about how she’s finding the show and how long it takes her to get ready. Read our exclusive mini interview below:
QS: You look amazing at the auditions and on the live shows– how long does it take to get ready?
TULISA: “I’m lucky to have a ‘glam squad’ of hairdressers, make-up artists and stylists who help with red carpet events. Getting into my dress doesn’t take long at all but once you’ve factored in hair straighteners and false lashes, it usually takes two hours.”
TULISA: “Tracksuit – I like to be comfortable when I’m not performing.”
QS: High street or designer labels?
TULISA: “I loved experimenting with labels during the auditions but I’m a high street girl at heart.”
QS: What’s your favourite body part?
QS: How do you cope with the comparisons to Cheryl and people accusing you of copying Cheryl’s style?
TULISA: “Cheryl Cole is the most photographed woman in the country, so she would have a worn a million-and-one outfits, she would have tried every style. People try new things and fortunately for her she was photographed doing it first, so there’s always going to be pictures of us in similar dresses or similar jackets that you can compare between me and her. She did it first, but I didn’t look and copy. It’s crazy!”
Tulisa has no need to copy Cheryl as she’s a fashion role model in her own right. If you like her shorts and jacket outfit, then the South drape jacketis similar to what Tulisa wore. The fact it doesn’t do up properly makes it extra edgy and cool
Tulisa accessorised with a brown printed scarf like the floral and lace trim scarf
And she made a statement with her coloured shorts. Be brave like her with the Love Label luxe leather shorts, which are available in tan or black depending on how adventurous you are
The N-Dubz star kept it casual and comfortable in some brown ankle boots. The Skechers lunacy rangers boots are just the ticket
Finish the look with a statement handbag. We can imagine the outspoken judge carrying something like the gorgeous Guess fallon carry all bag
And if you really liked the outfit, copy it completely with a similar hairband like the Lipsy jewel bow mesh hairband
Tulisa’s on X Factor every week between now and Christmas so there will be plenty of chances to see more of her edgy outfits.
