Active Toys For Active Kids!

We love Christmas, and not just for all the lovely presents we’re going to get from Very! We love the food too: roast turkey, stuffing, little sausages, chocolates, mince pies, pudding and brandy butter…wow. But over indulgence is never a good thing and, as well as making sure you keep active this season, it’s important to encourage the little ones to do so too. Getting them a gift that will help them with outdoor play or adventure is a great way to do it, and so here at Very we’ve been thinking of the best toys to get kids up and about after Christmas is over!

Getting them started on a set of wheels is always a good idea, so the Ladybird Tri Scooter, suitable for ages 3 years and up, would make the perfect gift for younger children who want to get used to the feeling of whizzing along under their own steam! Plus with the cool red and black spotty design, it’s sure to be a favourite with their younger brothers and sisters too. For those kids who are ready and raring to go on their first bike, the Toy Story 12 Inch Bike combines a hard-wearing, sturdy vehicle with great Toy Story characters. Removable stabilisers and adjustable handlebars are ideal for growing children as they can be altered to suit them as they grow and become more confident. Don’t forget that your little one will need a bike helmet too: take a look at our children’s bike helmets for a range of products for different ages.

Here at Very we’ve got a huge range of bikes to choose from that are great for getting kids out and about; a couple of our favourites are the Muddyfox 24 Inch Neptune Dual Suspension Boys Bike and the Silverfox 20 Inch Ice BMX Bike, both of which have sturdy frames, great suspension and adjustable seats – not to mention some stylish features like the jet black or icy pink frames. If your little one fancies burning some rubber on a different sort of vehicle, the Traxx Lightning Go-cart might be a good option: a moulded, fully adjustable seat, handle brake and hard-wearing steel frame are all set off by a cool black and green colour scheme, so safety and style are both covered.

If you’re looking for something a bit more stationary that still keeps the kids active, try the All Surface Swingball in Blue, a classic favourite that’s likely to get you up out of the armchair as well as the young ones! The swingball set also packs away into the base easily for simple and compact storage, making it brilliant for holidays or even just days out. Another good option would be the Ladybird Junior Padded Trampoline, a robust trampoline that’s suitable for ages 3 to 8 years and has padded sides to ensure they don’t get any bumps or bruises. Pop it in the garden once the weather cheers up and they’ll get hours of fun away from the TV and computer screens!

Hi just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few
of the pictures aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same results.
