Little Mix WON the eighth series of the X Factor – making television and music history as the first ever group to win the ITV talent show.
And how did they celebrate? Very can exclusively reveal they had a mini party with their mums in their dressing room before being whisked off to do interview after interview. The hard work starts now! They only got a chance to have one sip of Champagne each before the whirlwind of press activity started and it’s unlikely they’ll get much chance to rest before Christmas if they want to promote their winner’s single. This means we’ll get to see them in all manner of outfits as they have a schedule packed with activity before the Christmas number one is officially announced on 18 December.
The girls, who are now single so they can concentrate on their new job as potential chart-toppers, have always had a great dress sense, choosing to wear different variations of the same theme showing they have bonded since starting the shows. It’s hard to believe these girls didn’t know each other before! Now they are collective record breakers and their winners single, Cannonball by Damien Rice, is heavily expected to be Number 1 breaking yet another record. Cannonball reached number 32 in 2003 and number 19 after a re-release in 2004, but is set to become number one for the first time following the final as long as it can hold off The Military Wives, who are putting out the single Wherever You Are.
We look forward to seeing them out and about promoting it in their unique outfits. As they gripped their mentor Tulisa’s hand waiting to find out if they’d won, they looked stunning in white and gold, which go brilliantly together. Very has some gorgeous dresses in right now as well as trousers if you prefer Jessy’s look (far right, above). What’s refreshing about the girls is they don’t feel the need to wear super high heels and if you look closely at the photo above you can see they were all wearing gold trainers similar to the Nike Dunk Hi trainers below.
OUT: Amelia Lily
Teenager Amelia Lily was the first finalist to crash OUT of the X Factor final on Saturday night, but Very can reveal she was expecting it. In fact it’s a miracle she managed to go on stage in the first place as she lost her voice the week before the show. It was so bad that on the day of the final itself she wasn’t even sure that she would be able to find her voice as she woke up in severe pain.
Thankfully she found it to belt out the Christina Aguilera hit Ain’t No Other Man, and performed River Deep Mountain High with mentor Kelly Rowland. That song took people’s breath away, particularly as they looked so glamorous doing their duet. If it was down to a fashion show then a music show then Amelia may have done better! Her black maxi dress makes her look like a real diva and the split gives it an edgy modern take. For a similar shape, everyone can check out the Teatro halter maxi dress at Very- so chic!
OUT: Marcus Collins
Former hairdresser Marcus Collins can at least be proud he came second in X Factor 2011. His mentor Gary Barlow exclusively shared he is confident Marcus will make it despite not winning and Gary should know. With his successful history in Take That and as a solo artist, Mr Barlow knows the industry inside out. Marcus has had memorable moments on the show including wearing experimental outfits such as a loud pink suit. He’s got a unique style and a unique voice – definitely a good sign for a number one next year.
Well done to all the finalists – it’s been great TV and the weekends will not be the same without it! x
