Ok! Magazine Xmas Party: TOWIE Stars And Atomic Kitten

There are a thousand reasons to love Christmas but one of them is that it makes people dress up more as Very experienced with delight at the Ok! Magazine Christmas Party.  Yes, the celebrities that grace the magazine’s covers usually look drop dead gorgeous but everyone put on their sparkliest party dresses for the party at Floridita restaurant in London, which was part-sponsored by Lipsy. Well except for TOWIE couple Lydia Bright, who went for a vintage look and her boyfriend James Argent, who wouldn’t suit a dress…more of them later.

The biggest shock of the night was that the original three members of Atomic Kitten, Kerry Katona, Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon all showed up, which leads us to think there could be some kind of Kitten reunion. They could soon be Whole Again! We grabbed Liz McClarnon for an exclusive chat to find out more and to get some tips on party fashion:

VERY: You look stunning tonight, give us a secret about Christmas party dressing?

LIZ: “I always think a black dress is classic if you don’t have much time to get ready, because it suits any occasion. I know it’s boring but you can jazz it up with heels and accessories.”

VERY: Great tip, now tell us – will we be seeing a reunited Atomic Kitten in the new year?

LIZ: “You’ll have to wait and see. For a long time, I didn’t see or speak to the other girls but things change. You grow up.”

VERY: Are you  working on some solo music as well?

LIZ: “Yes, when I have time. I went to keep up with my cookery after Masterchef so it’s a constant juggling act. But music will always be my passion. Wait and see.”

VERY: How exciting! Has your fashion changed since the Atomic Kitten days and if so, how?

LIZ: “Yes, it’s definitely changed for the better! I was a teenager then wearing crop tops and now I’ve had kids. I’ve matured. I like more tailored clothing and bodycon dresses.”

VERY: What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?

LIZ: “Shoes, but I couldn’t possible pick just one pair. I have lots of shoes!”

If Atomic Kitten were to re-unite they’d still give younger bands like The Saturdays competition in the glamour stakes. Liz’s party dress looked stunning. If you fancy a similar one check out the fabulous South Satin Shift Dress from Very.

Other stars at the pary included pregnant Michelle Heaton, Made In Chelsea’s Gabriella Ellis and Cheska Hull, chef Aldo Zilli, DJ Ironik and Hollyoaks actress Gemma Merna but it was The Only Way Is Essex star Lydia Bright who  really stood out for making a difference. If you’re inspired by this to give the vintage look a go – because Lydia really pulls it off – start with the exquisite Fearne Cotton Velvet Peplum Dress and add the Love Label Cropped Tweed Jacket.

Let’s hope this is just the first of many glam Christmas parties. It was a great way to get us in the festive spirit and start thinking about what looks lovely during the party season! x
