Host Christine Bleakley announced it was children’s TV presenter Mark Rhodes who was going home from Dancing On Ice in Week 3 – one of the most dramatic weeks yet. Mark, whose kids TV co-host Sam Nixon remains in the competition, accepted defeat gracefully when he found himself in the skate-off against Dallas actress Charlene Tilton. However, the drama came from the women on the show – onstage and offstage with Jorgie Porter, Jennifer Ellision and host Christine Bleakley all having a particularly tough time.
Very has exclusives Ins and Outs of the past week.
Mark Rhodes knew he was out after picking a Blues Brothers track for the Skate Off while Charlene Tilton skated to the catchier Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend so it was very much a stiff upper lip and a cheeky smile when it was announced he was out. Mark exclusively told us the first thing he’d do when he left the studio was not to have a big meal or to see his family but to put a £10 bet on his children’s TV co-host Sam Nixon to win the show. How sweet!
In terms of skating it was the best week ever for Jorgie Porter as she came joint top of the leader board with actor Matthew Wolfenden. However, for the past week she’s been a bit emotional about an interview she gave claiming she was too fat to do ballet. Poor Jorgie, who claimed she had a horrific time in ballet school from the ages 16-18, says the published interview brought up lots of bad memories and it’s alienated her from people she attended ballet school with. Mentors Torvill and Dean are giving her extra special attention to turn her focus back to the ice as Jorgie could go all the way – she’s bookies favourite to win the show.
Jennifer Ellison had a drama with the show’s bosses as they banned her three year old son from show night. In true diva style, she tweeted her anger, saying: “Just been told no under 6s allowed in audience! Its a new rule from God at ITV!!! Think it’s probably coz of the child crying at the top of last weeks show xxx So sad!! ;( Absolutely gutted!!! Bit late in the day to change the rules if u ask me! And my mum now can’t watch me as I have nobody else to leave him with!” She clearly got told off as later in the day tweeted: “Before I go to sleep I want everyone to know I idolise dancing in ice. I’ve loved every single minute and don’t want ppl to think I’m being negative towards the show.” Oops! To make things worse, Jennifer bruised her ribs in rehearsals and has spent the past few days in agony. Ouch!
Christine Bleakley revealed she’s being sent hate messages by TV viewers, which has knocked her confidence. The former Daybreak host who replaced Holly Willoughby on Dancing On Ice this series says that being the new girl is as bad as being the new girl at school, but she is being made to feel welcome by host Phillip Schofield. Christine has pledged to continue to beat the bullies – an admirable decision! However, Very also hears there could be the option of moving to LA soon as her fiancé Frank Lampard is in talks with David Beckham’s team LA Galaxy. Chrsitine as the new Posh? Maybe one day…Christine did look incredible in her gold sequin dress. If you fancy shimmering in gold try the Not So Serious gold sequin dress at Very, which is mid-length rather than maxi but it will definitely get you noticed for all the right reasons!
It was a good week for judge Katrina Witt who won lots of compliments from TVviewers. Twitter and Facebook were deluged by messages of support for her straight-talking comments, with people saying they agreed with her. They also said they liked it when she said what nobody else dared to say. It seems it’s third time lucky for Katrina as she didn’t really find her personality in Weeks 1 and 2. Maybe it has something to do with how stunning she looked? Her red dress made her female presence on the judging panel even more noticeable (Louis Spence and Robin Cousins couldn’t compete). For a similarly stunning red dress try the South wrap jersey dress and you can always add your own bow.
Coronation Street star Andy Whyment, actor Corey Feldman, free runner Sebastien Foucan, TV presenter Sam Nixon, singer Chico and Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden, Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter, actress Jennifer Ellison, British skier Chemmy Alcott, Sugababe Heidi Range, fitness guru Rosemary Conley and Dallas star Charlene Tilton.
Very will have more gossip for you next weekend!
