Exclusive Video Interview With Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley

The Daily Mail Inspirational Women Awards is always a unique night as it honours those who have done incredible things and motivates those who haven’t to do more! Iconic Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley was among the achievers, after being the first to discover so many of the current pop stars including Florence Welch and Lily Allen. If Jo hadn’t played them on her Radio 1 show, the world would be a much more boring place.

Also, lets not forget Glastonbury, which wouldn’t be the same without seeing Jo on the BBC. Very had an exclusive chat with her about what it’s like to dress up for the music industry when you’re currently surrounded by fashionable pop and rock stars. Click here to see the video with her exclusive style tips.

Also at the event were Made In Chelsea’s Millie Mackintosh and Caggie Dunlop, who Very grabbed for a chat. Both girls said they felt ‘humbled’ by being at the ceremony. “We’ve only been coming to parties like this for a year,” said Millie, “and sometimes we feel a bit overwhelmed. This is one of these nights and it’s inspired us to do something to give back to the world. We need to have a charity Made In Chelsea charity night soon.”

How cute are those girls as they posed on the red carpet with their co-star Proudlock? They’re clearly beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. Some reality TV shows think they’ve made it already but Millie and Caggie seem to have kept sight of who they really are. They also know what kind of outfits suit them with Caggie going for white and primary colours to brighten up the red carpet and Millie looking chic and elegant in a belted beige coat.  If you like to stand out like singer Caggie, try a white cardigan like the Savoir rib waterfall cardigan over a white dress with embellishment (we like the South Linen Crochet Neck Detail Dress below). When you’re sticking to one colour with your cothing then you can afford to have crazy shoes – for equal brightness try Very’s Love Label snipe colour block wedges.

Model Millie looked more sophisticated in a beige belted coat – try the gorgeous South Madison 70s style coat and add a big faux fur scarf. Team with a statement clutch bag like the satin pearl cluster bag and some classic ankle boots like the Clarks limpet rock leather boots. Classy!

If you like looking at red carpet fashion, rest assured there are lots more awards ceremonies coming up. The Oscars, The Brits, The Baftas, The Grammy’s – watch out for all the latest fashion trends here!
