Hello Very shoppers! It’s another grey morning here in the pool and everywhere else in Britain so I thought it would be nice to brighten up your day with an amazing celeb/brand collaboration.
Alexa Chung looks pretty amazing in her new campaign for Vero Moda – the collection marries her effortless cool with the brands scandi minimalist shapes and the beauty of it all is, they’re pieces that you can actually wear. All too often celeb collaborations seem to be designed just to fit the celeb or other size zeroists (I found this out to embarrasing effect while staggering round a famous high street changing room trying to take off a famous supers dress) but rest assured these pieces fit like a dream.
The Polly Bow Sleeveless top will be a brilliant little summer go-to (we WILL dress for summer despite your best efforts Mr Sun!). It’ll look cute with everything from skinnies to high waisted shorts, and the bow detail gives it a cute little advantage over the average vest top. The Gina Long Sleeve Blouse is another piece that’ll become an instant classic, it’s gorgeously textured and the two front pockets give it a little military edge – wear tucked into skinnies with some wedges. One of my favourite pieces has to be the Miami Short Day dress as modelled here by La Chung herself, the Flamingo Print is a trend bulls-eye, and the shift shape makes it endlessly wearable – one of our very customers has suggested wearing it with a cropped blazer and nude wedges, and I couldn’t agree more – plus it’ll look gorgeous for weekends with a pair of Converse and a chunky knit if it’s still a bit chilly.
And my last spot is the Palm Print Mini Dress – the print is so spot on for summer and i just love the open back detail (that you can still wear your normal bra under – nice touch, I hate faffing about with crazy bras). This would make a nice little dress for a holiday night out with some nice heels and statement earrings and I could even see it being worn with some chunky black tights, ankle boots and a slouchy black cardi later in the year.
Anyway, enough of that – what you’ll be REALLY interested to hear is that we’re going to be giving away this very dress in a size 12 in a couple of weeks so keep your eyes peeled for details on how you can get your style mitts on it!
Love Lisa x
