Oooooh prom dresses. There are so many to choose from. Where to start? White is an unexpected choice and as a stylist I always like the unexpected. Take a look at Diane Kruger at the recent Cannes Film Festival (amFAR Cinema Against Aids event) wearing pre-spring/summer 2013 (yes, 2013!!) Chanel. It’s a prom dress (of sorts, though Karl would hate me for saying so) that’s dramatic, beautiful and demure. Ms Kruger has toughened and sparkled up the look with diamante encrusted silver stiletto court shoes (Louboutins natch) and a simple silver clutch.
You can get the look for less with this on trend off-white vintage style Love Label Prom Dress. So delicate and pretty and will suit all bodyshapes. For those that like to keep their dresses simple and sparkle free try the Little Mistress 2-in-1 Floral Dress – it’s sleek and minimal and will be super wearable post prom. Pear shaped girls will look fab in the Teatro Halter Neck Embellished Dress – the sparkle neck and keyhole draws the attention to the shoulders and the layers of the dress skim the hips. If you wanna go more frou frou then I suggest the Little Mistress Lace 2-in-1 Dress. The assymetric bodice of the dress is so contemporary it balances out the lacy ruffles. Last but by no means least is the Lipsy VIP Ruched Bust Dip Dye Prom Dress. This is a fabulous mini meringue of a dress, you’ll be channelling My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, and it’s not for the fainthearted or those who like to blend in! Diane Kruger most definitely is NOT blending in in hers, that’s for sure.
Add a gorgeous sparkly French Connection Glam Clutch Bag and simple spiky Lipsy Jessica Slingback Court Shoes. Or for uber toughness contrast the pretty dress with Iron Fist Ruff Rider Platforms. Simple Fiorelli Loop Cubic Zirconia Earrings finish the look off.
Now, get to that ball and kiss all the frogs you can!
