Celeb Style Steal: The Original Sugababes Brighten Up Olympics Opening Ceremony

Billions of people around the world tuned into the Olympics opening party and whether you loved it or were a bit confused, you can’t deny director Danny Boyle put on a spectacular show. As the master torch was lit up, the stadium seemed to erupt into a sea of fireworks and you could see lots of celebrities in the audience. It was just fabulous! Some of the lucky people who were there to witness history were the first ever members of girlband The Sugababes. Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy are now making a comeback under the name Mutya Keisha Siobhan.

They’re no longer called the Sugababes as that title is now owned by the girls who came into the band later on – Jade Ewen, Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah. But the originals definitely still look as stunning as ever. In fact, I think they look even better than when they first started out 14 years ago. In their bright oufits, they totally fitted in with the upbeat and jubilant atmosphere in the Olympics Stadium at the opening party for the London 2012 games. Here’s how to get that casual but very, very cute look:

Siobhan Donaghy (far left)

Siobhan looked red hot in every way with her flame coloured hair complementing her skinny jeans. To get this look, you could start with the Ted Baker cubba skinny jeans

And add the gorgeous South shirred shoulder blouse. The fact that red and pink clash creates the ‘wow’ factor!

Keisha Buchanan (middle)

Keisha’s always been the most experimental with fashion and so you can guarantee she’ll wear a trend-setting outfit to any event. Her white jeans are so summery, and the South supersoft denim skinny jeans from Very are a good copy

You could add some winning yellow and gold to the look with the Holly Willoughby printed long sleeve shirt For most of us, it’s the closest we’ll get to an Olympics medal!

Mutya Buena (right)

With her pierced lip and love of jewellery, Mutya always looks fierce but she kept it cool and classic on the opening ceremony night with jeans like Keisha’s and a long black blouse like the Savoir longline tunic blouse

If you really want Mutya’s look then you’ll need ear-rings. You can get a set of three silver hoops from Very

Recently, Siobhan tweeted that the album was finished and they’ve been working with a range of new and established singers including Emeli Sande, Naughty Boy and ex All Saints singer Shaznay Lewis. We don’t have an exact date for the release just yet, but it’s exciting! Watch this space for more details as we get them…
