The festival season continues! After the amazing V Festival, it was time for the Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend. These tend to be are a celebration of rock music with bands like Kasabian and Paramore and Foo Fighters and let me tell you, they’re brilliant to go to for inspiration about how to dress like a rock chick.
Two of my favourite artists did brilliant sets on the Saturday, showing off fierce style as well as their fantastic vocal abilities. Here’s the exclusive gossip:
Florence and The Machine were forced to battle with the elements as there was a massive downpour of rain during their set. However, Florence, dressed in a sexy black maxi dress, did an amazing job of lightening the mood at every opportunity. Before her song Rabbit Heart (Raise it Up) she demanded that the audience gave each other hugs – so cute! With Shake It Out, she danced around the stage like she was at a rave and encouraged the audience to join in. If you need some uplifting music, you need to need to download a Florence and The Machine track on your iPod now.
The song 212 is one of the tunes of the summer and Azealia drew a diverse crowd for her set in the dance tent with fans of all ages trying to sing along to the lyrics. Madness! The US singer will be touring the UK in October and creating a buzz ahead of her debut album, which is scheduled for a February 2013 release. It’s incredible to think she’s got all this support and she hasn’t even released one album yet. However, it may be partly because she looks amazing. For a similar rock chick look try high-waisted shorts like the Love Label high shine shorts.
With black shorts, you can get away with adding some neon on top. The Nike pro medium support bra is one way to copy it.
It’s not long now until Bestival, the next big live musical event, on 6 September. Watch this space!
