Fearne Cotton SS13 Catwalk Show

Could there be a more fitting intro to London Fashion Week than a speck on the FROW at the exclusive preview of Fearne Cottons SS13 collection? The answer my lovelies is a big huge nope! Fearne invited us along to preview her catwalk presentation at the super swish Claridges for an evening rubbing shoulders with celebs, supping cocktails filled with flowers and most importantly ooodling her tenth collection for Very.co.uk (lucky us!)

The sneak peek of Fearne’s collection oozed all of the Cotton trademarks, girlie with an edgy twist, a mix of tailored and floaty with clashing colours, cuts and textures. We oooh and ahhh’ed at the way Fearne mixed it up in what we reckon is her strongest collection yet, we saw glimpses of floaty dresses with fluro detailing, neon knits with bold but borderline romantic prints, flirty floral trousers mixed with tough tops, structured shapes with peplum details. Its eccentric its eclectic and its underpinned with Fearnes style savvy know how when it comes to designing clothes for women that want to look great, feel good and have fun with fashion, it’s English country garden meets girl about town and for these very reasons the FROW and fashion crowd eagerly await its arrival.

The front row was filled with some of Fearnes biggest fashion fans including her boyf Jesse Wood, Laura Whitmore, Jo Wood, Millie Mackintosh, Professor Green, Greg Rutherford, Leigh Francis, Charlene Spiteri and Keisha Buchanan (to name check a few!) The evening started with cocktails and canapés in a summer garden inspired settings, with whimsical music, wild flowers and the gorgeous glow of candlelight. Fearne mooched about with her celeb friends, fans, magazine editors and the Very team, giving the goss on the inspiration behind her collection, chatting about everything from the direction for her SS13 collection to her muse – the lovely Leah Wood that modelled her finale piece, a show stopper peach gown, to the play list she crafted for the event herself which was filled with soulful and gentle sounds, mixed up with tracks with a bit an up tempo beat. The soundtrack was the perfect partner for Fearnes collection, mixing soft and the beautiful with quirky.

Fearne finished her catwalk show with a great big thank you for all of the support from Very, her fans, the press, her customers and her friends and family. It’s fair to say we got a little bit teary eyes, mostly because of how much we love our Fearney and seeing the reception her SS13 collection received was a massively proud moment. Her hard work and dedication towards creating pieces that real women can feel fab in and show personality has paid off – Fearne got a mahoosive round of applause, the lights came up, we supped the last of our cocktails and saved the date in our calendars to make sure we’re the first ones to nab her SS13 collection come January.
