Joss Stone Talks About New Music Career And Her New Look

Joss Stone is just 25 but it’s 10 years since she released her debut album Soul Sessions. Now she’s touring to promote her latest release Soul Sessions II and her voice sounds better than ever. She’s clearly developed her raw natural talent and she seems to be loving life right now as she couldn’t stop smiling in between songs at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire.  And how amazing does the album artwork look?

Joss looked gorgeous for the 90 minute performance in a strappy dress but she took off her sandals before she started singing. Apparently this was because she wanted to feel the music more, she is that passionate! Before the gig, I found out what Joss has been up to recently and how she felt about making a comeback.

QS: How did making this album differ from your first album?

JOSS: ‘There was no moment in this album when I had to take it to someone and ask is it ok. We made some music and put it out and it was so liberating.’

QS: You’ve collaborated with Mick Jagger and Dave Stewart, who next?

JOSS: ‘I love collaborating with people. Whoever wants to sing with me, I’m there. I listen to all types of music. My iPod is so diverse.’

QS: How does it feel to be touring again?

JOSS: ‘It’s the best thing ever. I want to go to countries that no artists have been to before. I’ll start off with the regular ones, but if I’m allowed afterwards I’d love to be the first artist to do a proper world tour and go to every country in the world. How cool would that be?

QS: And finally, how was the royal wedding?:

Joss: ‘You can tell William and Kate love each other. I saw the look in their eyes when they got married and thought that so romantic. I hadn’t met Kate before but the boys are so lovely, they make me laugh. I feel so proud to be British and proud I was there.’

Well with her new album, we’d say Britain’s proud that Joss is one of us. Good luck to her with the continuation of her tour!

Love Zoex
