Boobies! We love em, we cup em, we name em and what else do we do? We bike for them!
Yep – that’s right, we bike for boobies. Well – biked to be precise. Last week, Team Very took to the HILLS (caps intended!) to continue our pursuit of boob awareness, cycling a stonkin 54 miles to help raise money for our partner charity CoppaFeel! supporting them in their mission to spread the message amongst young peeps that knowing your boobs could save you life, raising almost £900 along the way!
So, Karen and I (now known at the HQ as Verys biggest pair of you know whats-its) joined forces with a load of CoppaFeel lovelies to form a giant boob biking army, taking the long stretch from London to Brighton by storm.
Now, there is definitely one more ‘athletically gifted’ member of Team Very (it’s Karen!) but with a good few gym seshes, the donation of some top quality kit from our lovely suppliers Moore and Large, Adidas and Nike, we were prepped and practised but pooping our pants at the prospect of cycling the 54 mile beast!
But the donations came flooding in and it turns out pennies actually do equal pedal power and guess what, we did it! I might have taken us 8 hours (that includes a lunch break peeps!) but we pedalled and we laughed and we wore gigantic boobies to spread the CoppaFeel! message from London to Brighton.
We told the supporters to cop a feel, we asked passers by to cop a feel, we showed the Sunday drivers, the shop keepers, the 2000 strong fellow cyclists to cop a feel. We asked London, East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton to cop a feel and we raised a load of money whilst we were at it.
We climbed hills, monster hills, the Ditching Beacon *shudders* to be precise but we laughed, we sang, we made people smile and we hopefully left a lasting impression with our balloon filled back boobies and boob coppin along the way.
To date Team Very have managed to raise a whopping £860 and the donations are still pouring in, largely because we ain’t stopped harping on about it and yes, ok we’ve shown everyone our Bikin for Boobies bruises! But mostly the pennies keep flooding in because we know how important it is to spead the message to young women and men (yep – men get breast cancer too!) that knowing your boobs could save your life!
So please, start checking yours today. Here’s a handy guide from CoppaFeel! You never know, it could literally save your life.
