Olympic Golden Girl Jessica Ennis last night added yet another award to her trophy cabinet – a Cosmo Ultimate Women Award. She was named the Ultimate Olympian at a star studded ceremony in London’s V&A museum. I mean just look at how they set up the table plan for the VIP guests including Very’s own Fearne Cotton, half the X Factor contestants, Alexandra Burke, One Direction and Kelly Osbourne.
We know how much of an honour it is to win an award as Very’s Danielle collected a Cosmo Award for Best Brand Blog at the magazine’s prestigious blog awards recently. As a result of last night’s win the heptathlete was glowing and I made the most of the opportunity to have a few words with her about fashion and future plans. She really is quite petitie!
Q: Congratulations on your Ultimate Olympian award. How did it feel to win?
Jessica: ‘For me, it was an honour to be on the front cover of Cosmo magazine earlier this year as I cannot remember the last time they’ve had a sportswoman on the cover. After that, anything is a bonus.”
Q: How do you prepare for a big night out?
Jessica: “I’m quite low maintenance. The hardest part for me is choosing a dress. I tend to stick to designers I know. I don’t like anything too short, I’d much rather go for knee-length.”
Q: How do you dress when you’re not going out?
Jessica: “I love my jeans and boots. I can’t stand it when people wear fake UGG boots though. They look awful”
Q: When do you go back in training?
Jessica: “I’m back in training now. It’s really tough and I am not even doing that much compared to what I was. But it’s important to keep going because I’ve still got goals to achieve.”
Q: What’s your next goal?
Jessica: “My fiance and I will probably get married next year and then I guess there is Brazil in 2016.”
It’s great to see Jess was still really down to earth and hasn’t let the gold medal change her. I hope she achieves her goal and gets another in 2016!
