X Factor Live Show Wk 4: Halloween

If you think Halloween is a scary time of year then spare a thought for the X Factor contestants who are singing for the prize of their lives if they win the show. However, the pressure on them is our entertainment as each week they step up their performances and costumes to stand out from the crowd. I mean what on earth was Rylan (above) wearing?

This week there were some Halloween like twists and turns as some of the favourite acts put on less than impressive performances. Here’s some exclusive behind the scenes gossip about some of the acts that put on a memorable show.

Union J

This boyband were being lined up as a rival to One Direction so it was a shock when they ended up in the bottom two and were forced to sing for the judges again on Sunday night to justify their place in the competition.  I heard the problem was they couldn’t emphasise with the song Sweet Dreams by Beyonce and had been warned in rehearsals they needed to put more emotion in their performance. Let’s hope they chose a more rock and roll song next week.

Ella Henderson

The schoolgirl had previously put in consistently good performances  in the live shows but her performance Evanescence’s Bring Me To Life was as messy as her hair. She made an impression in a cape and black dress but once she opened her mouth there was not as much of the usual wow factor. There have been more reports she is growing close to George Shelley from Union J. Maybe they’d both spent too much time hanging out and not enough time practising.

District 3

Their mash-up of Every Breath You Take by The Police and Beautiful Monster by Ne-Yo left the judges unconvinced. I can reveal their costumes were inspired by the film The Clockwork Orange but this  confused American judge Nicole Scherzinger who has actually never seen of the famous film. She also agreed with Gary Barlow’s comment that, “This week was a massive step backwards. It was a mess.”

James Arthur

James can’t seem to put a foot wrong and his tremendous gothic performance of Eurythmics Sweet Dreams left all the judges stunned and full of praise. Since the show started he has developed a lot of celebrity fans. I can exclusively reveal JLS, One Direction and Lily Allen have all voiced their support. However, show bosses have warned him about having too many nights out. If his ego gets out of check then he’s out.

Who are you voting for? At this stage, there are still so many amazing acts. I have no idea who will win…and that’s what keeps it exciting!
