Makeup artist, Nancy Spencer from our This Week In Fashion shoot tells us how she got the hair and makeup look of our gorgeous model…..
Copy the coolest-kid-on-the-blocks’ hair by channelling Alexa Chung’s loose laid back waves. Start by rough drying your hair using the Remington Keratin Therapy Dryer with a volumising mousse. Centre part your hair and using Babyliss Wave Envy Hair Styler, take large sections and continue to tong around the head. Leave to cool before separating with your fingers and spritzing with a texturising salt spray.
If your outfit is shining bright, try contrasting your eyes with simple eye makeup. Always use a base first to keep colour on – try Dainty Doll Eyeshadow Base Frankie Girl. Next sweep Dainty Doll Treat Her Like A Lady – Nude up to the socket and underneath the eyes. Highlight your inner corners and brow bones with Touché Éclat in no1 for a wide eyed lifted look. Add a thin slick of Barry M Blink Precision Eyeliner across the top lashes and finish with NYX Boudoir Mascara Collection in black to frame the eyes.
A big trend and always a good transitional way into Autumn/Winter makeup is a sumptuous deep lip. Condition your lips first by applying Vaseline lip therapy. Using a lip brush, paint on Barry M lip paint in Vintage Rose and keep the finish matt for long-lasting colour.
Add a cool edge to a French polish with some simple but impressive nail art. Prep hands and nails with Burts Bees tips n toes hands and feet kit and file into your desired shape. Paint each nail with a beige-nude, OPI Holland Collection – Did you ‘ear about van Gogh? and wait to dry. Next take a dark tone such as Barry M nail paint in Black and paint the tips of each nail in a ‘V’ shape in two strokes. Wait to dry, then clean up around the nails with a cotton bud dipped into nail varnish remover.
Always use a lightweight moisturiser under makeup such as Elizabeth Arden 8hr cream daily moisturiser to prevent your foundation slipping. Use NYX high definition foundation to minimise pores and any fine lines, try applying with a flat foundation brush for even coverage. Contour your cheeks using Fake Bake bronzy babe compact and add shine on the tops of the cheeks with ModelCo shimmer airbrush illuminator to create studio lighting for your face.
