10 of Britain’s Best Busts are calling on the public to vote on their curves, in the final of the annual Star in a Bra search. The shapely selection have beaten over 700 D+ hopefuls in a fight to prove just how good curves look in lingerie. They will also win an international modelling contract with D to K cup brand, Curvy Kate, a fashion shoot with Cosmopolitan magazine and a chance to appear in the first ever lingerie catwalk show this Autumn.
With British boobs doubling in size over the last 40 years and sales of D to G cups rising by 50% year-on-year since 2005, more women than ever are wearing fuller cup lingerie ranges. Many bra brands still lack in choosing models that relate to these statistics though. Going against the grain, Curvy Kate are championing shapely figures by searching for a D plus girl who is curvy, charismatic and confident with a fuller body and natural chest.
The pioneering model search strives to celebrate healthy figures, a positive body image and diversity. There is no age, size or height limits which means anyone can enter as Curvy Kate believe a variety of looks should be shown in the media, for all women to relate to.
Hannah Houston, PR and Marketing Manager comments ‘We truly believe that our customers should model our lingerie as these are the girls who will be buying it. Out model search isn’t just a one off – it’s here to stay to prove how gorgeous the shapely figure looks in lingerie – wobbles, bumps and all. It’s not up to us to choose the next Curvy Kate – we want our fans to tell us the girl they want to see modelling the lingerie they’ll be wearing.’
There has been overwhelming support from the public with over 3000 votes for the bra stars recorded in two weeks. The increase in the media buzz regarding the UK’s growing bust lines and the rise of the K cup, only strengthens the need for more realistic shapes in the media.
The top 10 girls were made to shine in front of the camera at a professional shoot and make over in London. The photoshoot images are now live on Facebook and the public will have one vote to choose their favourite girl to be crowned queen of the curves.
Voting closes on 30th April and the winner is announced 2nd May.
