Swimwear To Suit Your Body Shape

What better way to spend this weekend than booking a holiday, eyeing up swimwear and dreaming of laying on that hot sandy beach?! We all need something to look forward to afterall and the first step in the process? Swimwear shopping! Whatever your shape and size, we at Very have it covered. We’ve done all the hard work so all you need to do is make a nice hot cuppa, sit back and click to shop.

See below some top tips from our style expert Suzi on how to choose the right swimwear for your shape.

 Boyish Shape

Resort Cut Out Detail Swim Dress | Shapewear Underwired Swimdress – spot print | Roxy Plaid Knotted Bikini Set

DO: If you have a boyish shape then you need to accentuate those curves. Look for swimsuits that have volume in the hip area, skirts, ties and hoops as this will create more curvy hips or choose a deeply cut bikini top with a curve enhancing neckline.

DONT: Choose solid dark colours, these draw attention away from the shape of your body.

 Smaller Bust

Resort Bandeau Tankini & Hipster BriefsLittle Mistress Fringed Halter Bikini Set

DO: Choose bikini tops with pattern, detail, frill and embellishment. This will add that much wanted volume to your chest. Also try to choose tops with under wiring for that extra lift and enhancement. A lot of bikini tops also have hidden padding, perfect! No one will know!

DONT: Choose minimalist bikini tops, this will just flatten your chest.

 Pear Shape

Panache Savannah Bandeau Swimsuit | Resort Sequin Detail Tankini Set | Resort Magic Tankini Set – Black/Gold

DO: Choose simple darker bottoms, this will take the attention away from your bottom half. Pair it with a detailed/patterned top to draw the focus on your top half.

DONT: Choose bottoms with any extra volume i.e frills, skirts and side ties.

  Bigger Bust

Freya Calamity Underwired Bikini Halter Bikini Top | Resort Shapewear Push Up Swimsuit

DO: You lucky ladies need to opt for bikini tops with under wire, this will give you the bra like support you need. Look out for bikini tops with thicker and wider straps, preferably the halter-neck style like above. This will really help lift the chest and keep your chest safe and secure. When it comes to pants, choose some with patterns to balance out your lower half.

DONT: Wear bikini tops that are too small for you, an accident is awaiting! Avoid spaghetti strap tops, these won’t be able to handle nor offer the support your chest needs.

Apple Shape

Resort Multiway Bandeau Swimsuit |  Resort Shapewear Underwired Swimdress – Print | Resort Shapewear Push Up Tankini Top

DO: If you’re slightly more conscious of your tummy then choose a one piece, with no tummy on show meaning you can relax and have fun.  Choose a plunging neckline, this will draw the eyes away from your tummy and towards your fabulous cleavage!

DONT: Stay away from lighter colours that will enhance everything you’re trying to cover. Also stay away from bottoms that are too tight.

Cover Ups

Resort Pull On Wrap Detail Skirt | Resort Jewelled Kaftan | Resort Jumpsuit with Embellished Front

Finish off your fab bikini choice with a cover up, perfect for strolling around, and for me, when I have just finished eating at the buffet section! eek!

Are you still feeling blue? I’m certainly not! Bring on the holidays I say!
