It was all about the long white dress at the premiere of British movie About Time – both leading actresses ditched the trusty LBD (Little Black Dress) in favour of a much more eye-catching white maxi. Rachel McAdams and Margot Robbie pulled it off pretty spectacularly, don’t you think?
Have you heard any buzz about this movie yet? Already the critics are going crazy with approval for it as it was made by director Richard Curtis, who directed Love Actually and Notting Hill. It’s all about a young rich English boy (a part that Hugh Grant would have played in his prime) who falls for a ditzy American woman (played by Rachel McAdams). The guy discovers he can time travel and goes back in time to change his future for the better. While this may sound confusing, it’s a mix of Sliding Doors meets Notting Hill and I can now officially tell you it’s brilliant. In fact, the premiere had people in the audience clapping after the film and that rarely happens – normally the stars can’t get to the after party fast enough!
As Rachel – the previous star of Hollywood hits like the Notebook and Morning Glory – looked so good, I had to ask for celebrity fashion tips. The actress revealed: “Keep everything as you never know when you might need it. Vintage is something you collect, not what you buy. So look after your shoes, your bags and your tops – everything – as you never know when it will come back into fashion.” Wow! I like her thriftiness almost as much as I like her white dress…
