Why Celebrities Support Breast Cancer Charities

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and to mark this very special charity push, one of the first fundraising events of the month was a celebrity fashion show in London’s five star Grosvenor Hotel. But this wasn’t any ordinary fashion show as the celebrities were upstaged by remarkable women who had suffered from cancer and who strutted their stuff down the catwalks looking like true stars themselves. It was so emotional!

The stars that attended really made an effort to glam up to show that you can fight cancer and be fabulous at the same time. Former TOWIE star Lydia Rose Bright (above left) looked especially sensational in a grey dress with sequins. And Dionne Bromfield (above right), god-daughter of the late Amy Winehouse, showed off an amazing figure in a white bodycon dress. She’s got a solo album out this year and a backing gig supporting The Wanted so we’ll be seeing a lot more of her.

It was also great to meet Olympic champion cyclist Victoria Pendleton at the event. Since her dramatic fail on Strictly Come Dancing last year, Victoria’s had a bit of a rest and she’s had a bit of a style transformation. Her new bob is very Coco Chanel which is pretty and sophisticated, just like her little black dress.

And what do you think of athlete Denis Lewis’s maxi dress (below)? Fierce! Breast Cancer Care is a cause very close to Denise’s heart as she revealed her grandmother had survived from breast cancer. This fashion show is just one of many fudraising events Denise has taken part in over the years for Breast Cancer Care, she’s a busy lady.

The host of the event was TV and radio presenter Edith Bowman, who attends this event every year. She said it’s important to have an occasion where women can feel better about their looks, whatever they’ve been through. It’s also a cause close to her heart as her mum had breast cancer.  She was the perfect compere for the evening. Fun but reminding everyone why they were there.
