Jessie J really glammed up for the Royal Variety Performance this year. Wow! She re-invents herself almost as much as Madonna, now swapping her platinum cropped hair for something dark and wavy, 1920s style. And it’s not just the hair that has changed. Gone are the jumpsuits and short shorts and instead it’s hello to maxi dresses and white hot style. I love the white dress she wore on stage (above).
However, it wouldn’t be an awards ceremony without an outfit change and she also looked dazzling in a white trouser suit. I like the wide leg trousers on her – they’re a lot more flattering than tight trousers.
Jessie’s just released her new album Alive, which she’s currently promoting in the UK with TV appearances like this and The X Factor. However, she revealed she is off to try and make it in the States in 2014 with a tour of America starting in February. Go, Jessie!
Mary J Blige, who Jessie duetted with, came over to participate with her in the Royal Variety Show and looked equally spectacular in a white maxi dress. This was such a Christmassy performance.
The show, which was hosted by comedian John Bishop, was packed with everything from comedy like Dame Edna Everage and dance like Britain’s Got Talent WInners Spellbound, but it was the male solo singers that grabbed most people’s attention. Gary Barlow showed us why he had authority to judge on the X Factor as he sung his heart out. If I was a judge, I would put him through.
Olly Murs and Robbie Williams looked just gorgeous. It was a great night for Robbie as his album Swing When You’re Winning became Number One in the UK charts. No wonder they’re both grinning in the photo below.
The show will be on ITV on 9 December and I advise you to tune in. It’s a celebration of British talent and two hours of non-stop fun!
