Stick to your healthy resolutions with Panache!

2 Must-haves to ensure you stick to your healthy resolutions

Now we are a few weeks into January how are your New Years fitness resolutions going? Still sticking to them? If you made an exercise related resolution and need some motivation we have two simple but effective ways to help you stay motivated…

1.  The right clothing:

“Give a girl a pair of shoes and she can take on the world”

We love that quote because it highlights how important an outfit can be in boosting our confidence. What we wear to exercise is equally as important. The tricky thing about sports gear is that it also needs to be functional- the material needs to allow your skin to breathe, it needs to dry quickly and the style and fit needs to be practical for the exercise in hand.  One vital piece of our sports wardrobe which is often over looked is the sports bra. Jenny White, of the Research Group in Breast Health at the University of Portsmouth, says: ‘We have found that breasts move an average of 10cms — up and down, side-to-side, and forwards and backwards.’ The larger your cup size, the greater the force on the breasts and the more they need to be restrained to avoid damage to connective tissue and ligaments.

Your future-self will thank-you for purchasing a quality bra that supports your breasts.
Your present self will be thankful for the reduced breast pain and tension in the back, shoulder and arms that the correct sports bra can provide.  After all, exercising is all about making us feel and look better not worse.

Panache Sports award winning bra comes in a variety of colours to compliment your sportswear;

To ensure you purchase the correct sized bra its worth watching our handy guide to bra fitting below:

2. Music

Music is the sound track to our lives. We all know we walk faster when we’ve got our headphones on and turned up and we probably drive faster when Chase & Status comes on the radio. Last year scientific research was carried out to measure the impact of music on our performance in the gym and it was found to improve performance by up to 15%. The best beats for working out need to be between 120 -140bpm. Don’t be tempted to go any slower or any faster. The rhythm of your workout music stimulates the motor area of the brain and choosing music that’s too fast could send you into a dizzy spin. Using the right paced music helps use our energy more efficiently and therefore go for longer. Music can also help you start your workout, because it gets our brain excited and causes us to move, so no matter how much your dreading your workout the right music can give you the energy that you need to get through it. Spotify is now free for the mobile, which means you can download the app and listen to music for free wherever you are. Leaving you some cash to spend on some good quality headphones, our favourites are:
