The Voice is back on BBC One with a lot of changes – Kylie Minogue taking over from Jessie J is one of the key points! And guess what? I witnessed the changes first hand as my friend Leo The Lion from The Streets took part in the show. I was part of Team Leo and was shown cheering (or screaming) manically backstage while he was performing. It was truly stressful at the time as the judges spin their chairs round at the last possible minute. My nerves are still recovering!
So in case you missed the first episode, let me talk you through what happened and what I saw from my backstage viewpoint (I’m second from left in a black dress):
As you can see, it got pretty emotional backstage. I’m shouting ‘press the button’! Marvin Humes, who’s took over presenting duties from Reggie Yates was actually laughing at my enthusiasm. Cringe! His co-presenter this year is Emma Willis, who took over from Holly Willoughby. Emma, who also hosts Celeb BB, looked stunning in a black dress. It’s a simple black dress but it’s all about the attitude she accessorises it with.
Talking of black, Kylie opted for a black bodycon dress. At the start of my friend Leo’s song she looked all cute and girly. When he started singing she got all hot and bothered and then she ended up pushing the button with her bottom. Cheeky Kylie!
Leo sang Simply Red’s Holding Back The Years Of Time and not only did he get a standing ovation from the audience but Tom Jones and Kylie Minogue both turned round for him. He picked Kylie, which I’m happy about.
However, I did notice there were a few other contestants who will be strong competition. Anna Mcluckie played a harp on and sang Get Lucky and will be a key player in team Will.I.Am.
It was a great first episode and now I’m really looking forward to the next episode of The Voice as I’ll be seeing who’s competition for Leo. Will you be watching?
