London Fashion Week is when we get to look into the fashion future and see what’s going to be on trend next season. This inspiration comes partly from the catwalk and partly from the celebrities who are sat on the Front Row (FROW) and dress up in the designer’s coolest pieces to guarantee the show gets in the newspapers and magazines. And talking of cool, it seemed like we’ve got a new colour to replace black for Autumn/ Winter 2014 – green!
Singer Paloma Faith wore it in a skirt, Kate Moss looked super chic in a green jumpsuit and Nicola Roberts wowed everyone in a green and blue dress with a rock star leather jacket. If you want to be not just on trend but ahead of the trend then maybe it’s start looking at a way you can wear green? I’m looking at everything – skirts, dresses and jumpsuits – after seeing how well these celebs wore it and I’m loving the selection at Very. Seeing the difference between Paloma’s feminine pencil skirt and Kate Moss’s edgy jumpsuit shows that whether you’re a girly girl or more of a tomboy you can wear the colour.
For a bit of class, which could take you from the office to night a similar skirt to Paloma’s is the Love Label double layer midi skirt. For something you can dress up or down, follow the ultimate British supermodel with the Definitions utility jumpsuit. And I am loving all the green dresses at Very, but the one most like Nicola’s is the Savoir printed tunic dress, which can be worn with the South raised design leather jacket.
What do you think? Are you ready to go green? Do it now so you’re in front of everyone else who’ll be jumping on the trend later in the year.
