While we love (like, really love) chocolate and we’re not adverse to the odd bonnet parade, what we’re really craving this Easter is fashion and lots of it.
So with that in mind I’ve had a good root around our new collections to seek out the most Easter-appropriate looks – obviously it’s all quite girly so if you’re not one for petals or pastels look away now!
Flowers are a no brainer for a cute Easter look, and this seasons offerings run the gamut from bold and bright to kitschy vintage. So from left to right, here’s a bit about our fave florals. If you fancy Driving Miss Daisy this sleeveless dress from South is a nice little casual look, you wouldn’t even have to wear it with heels, a cute pair of white plimsolls would keep it pared back and perfect.
Next up is this flower bomb from Definitions – high impact and lipstick bright this little dynamo needs played down accessories and a slick of something equally eye-popping on your pout, and the pencil shape makes it oh-so-wearable .
Going for something a little darker (for the less-girly girls out there) we’re just a bit obsessed with this tea dress from the one and only Kimberly Walsh, the nipped in waist and lace collar make this a wear-anywhere staple, you could wear it with a beaten up biker to give it some edge or just keep it sweet with some sophisticated l’il flats.
Lastly in our floral tribute is this shirt dress from Coleen Rooney – it’s definitely got a ‘found in a thrift shop’ feel to it with its amazing geo print and contrast collars and cuffs. If the sun doesn’t make an appearance then you can whack on your tights and some ankle boots and it’ll still look pretty darned amazing.
We’re falling in love with our pastel and candy tones right now – they’re a big mood boost after the blacks and greys of winter and they look instantly fresh and optimistic (and yes, make us feel a bit like Disney Princesses which is never a bad thing!).
This prom dress from Definitions is made for swirling about in like Audrey Hepburn circa 1954, it’s fully loaded with the ultimate girly details (net skirt and lace, check!) and it’ll give your wardrobe a big fat dose of chic whether you’re going to a wedding or a romantic night out – super sweet.
If you want to really make an entrance, this powder blue maxi is ticking a whole load of boxes this season – add accents of cool metallics to set off the iciness and keep make-up fresh and natural.
In stark contrast this little lemon bon-bon is perfect for giving your mood a heavy dose of Vit C – wear it dressed down with your converse for a picnic in the park or punch it up a bit with some strappy sandals, it’s one of those dresses that just goes with the flow (the best kind).
Lastly I’ve picked out this shimmery peachy maxi from Rare – now you might be thinking “this is way too posh for easter weekend shenanigans!” but I always think that if you keep the accessories and hair-do low-key then there’s no reason not to swish down to your local in something fab-u-lous. You only live once (just don’t forget to buy a complimentary bra!).
And that’s it – I hope the Easter Bunny brings you lots of goodies, have fun! x
